- Location Data. We do not ask your device for its location, and we do not use GPS. We collect only an approximate location. Each request you make to the Services carries your IP address, and Vercel Analytics records the country, region and city worked out from that address. - If it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim
- For identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin
- If we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse
- If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province
- If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records
- If it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced

Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ("third parties") who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will also not share your personal information with any organization apart from us. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct.
The third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:
- Affiliate Marketing Programs
GoAffPro
- AI Service Providers
- Cloud Computing Services
- Community Chat
Telegram
- Customer Support
Linear
- Data Backup and Security
- Email Delivery
Brevo
- Invoice and Billing
- User Account Registration and Authentication
- Web and Mobile Analytics
- Website Hosting
What each of them receives, and why:
- Supabase. Our database and sign-in provider. It stores your account and email address, the habits you track and your record of them, and what you write in the Services, such as excuses, messages to Support and testimonials.
- Vercel. Hosts the Services and runs our servers, so it handles each request you make to them, including your IP address and browser details. Vercel Analytics records the pages you visit so we can see how the Services are used.
- Stripe. Takes your payments. It receives your email address and your account ID when you subscribe, and the payment details you enter on its checkout page.
- Google (Gemini API). Writes the Overseer's briefings and weekly verdicts. For each one it receives your alias, the habits you track, your record of them, the excuses you give and, on Elite, the goal you set.
- OpenAI. Reads a briefing aloud when you play it on Pro or Elite. It receives the text of that briefing, which can name you, your habits and your record.
- Linear. Our support desk. It receives what you send through Support, with the page you sent it from, your screen size, browser, time zone, app version and plan, and your email address if you write to us signed out.
- Brevo. Sends our emails. It receives your email address and the emails we send you. If you name a partner for the Dead Man's Switch, it also receives their email address and the emails we send them.
- GoAffPro. Runs our affiliate program. Its script does not run on our pages, and it sets no cookies and receives nothing from your browser. When a subscription an affiliate brought is paid or renewed, our server sends GoAffPro the order number, the amount paid, any discount code used, and the affiliate’s referral code or ID. If that sale is later reversed or disputed, our server tells GoAffPro so the commission can be cancelled, or reduced when only part of it is reversed. It receives no name or email address. If you arrive through an affiliate’s link and sign up, our server saves the affiliate’s referral code with your account on our own systems, never in your browser, so the affiliate can be credited if you subscribe within seven days; we keep it until your account is deleted, and we do this on the basis of our legitimate interests in running the program.
- Telegram. Hosts our Elite community group. If you join it, Telegram tells us your Telegram user ID, and we send that ID back to Telegram to check that you are in the group and to remove you if your Elite subscription ends.
We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:
- Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
In Short: We use cookies only to keep you signed in, and no advertising or tracking cookies. Affiliate links work without cookies.
We set cookies only when you sign in, to keep you signed in. Your browser also keeps a few things for our Services in its local and session storage: your settings and a copy of your board, so it opens quickly and works offline, and, on our public pages and only while the tab is open, a note of how you arrived, for our own statistics, which you can turn off (your browser then remembers that choice). We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. We do not use cookies or similar technologies for advertising, and no other company places cookies on our Services.
If you arrive through an affiliate’s link, the affiliate’s code stays in the address of the pages you open, and no cookie or browser storage holds it. If you sign up, our server saves the code with your account, so the affiliate can be credited if you subscribe (see GoAffPro in section 4).
Each cookie and each item your browser keeps for us, what it is for, and how you can turn it off or clear it, is set out in our Cookie Notice.

If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals.
