COOKIE NOTICE
Last updated October 09, 2026
This notice lists every cookie this website sets and everything it keeps in your browser, what each one is for and how long it stays. It sits beside our Privacy Notice, which says what we do with your personal information.
1. IN SHORT
We set cookies only when you sign in, and only to keep you signed in. We use no advertising cookies, and apart from the analytics in section 5, no other company’s script runs on our pages. Affiliate links work without cookies: no affiliate’s code is stored on your device. The one thing our public pages keep that the site could do without is a note of how you arrived, for our own statistics, and you can turn it off at the end of this notice.
- Sign-in cookies. Named sb-…-auth-token (a long one is split into parts ending .0, .1 and so on), set by this website through Supabase, the company that runs our sign-in. They keep you signed in, so the pages of your account know it is you. They hold the tokens that prove it is you and the account details Supabase keeps with them, and never an affiliate’s code. A second one, sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier, is set when you sign up or ask for a new password, to finish that step safely. They are deleted when you sign out, and a browser keeps them for at most 400 days. They are strictly necessary: without them no one could sign in.
- Payment. When you subscribe you pay on Stripe’s own page, checkout.stripe.com. Stripe sets its own cookies there, for security and to prevent fraud, under its own cookie policy. Our pages load nothing from Stripe.
This website sets no other cookie.
3. WHAT YOUR BROWSER KEEPS FOR THIS SITE
A browser can also keep information for a website in local storage, which stays until you clear it, and in session storage, which goes when you close the tab. The law treats these like cookies, so they are listed here too. Each item is read only by this site’s own pages and is never sent to anyone else.
On your board, once you are signed in
- Your settings: sound on or off and its volume, the display and visibility choices, and whether the Overseer is muted. Local storage.
- What you have already seen: notices, hints and the Overseer’s lines you have read, heard or dismissed, so they are not shown to you twice. Local storage, and session storage for the lines played in the open tab.
- A copy of your board: your habits, the Overseer’s last briefing and your place on the leaderboard, so the board opens at once and still shows when you are offline. Local storage.
- What you are in the middle of: a field report you have not sent yet, and the calendar feed and witness links you made, so the board can show them again. Local storage.
- A payment just made: for the minutes after you pay, a note that your plan is on its way, so the board waits for it. Session storage.
- A new version of the site: a note that lets the board reload once, and only once, when we publish a new version. Session storage.
These are needed for the board to work the way you set it and use it.
The offline app
The site installs a small program in your browser, called a service worker, which keeps copies of the site’s files and of pages you have opened in the browser’s cache, with a small database in your browser (IndexedDB, named workbox-expiration) that records when each copy was saved so old copies are removed. It lets pages open quickly, lets the app work offline, and lets you add it to your home screen. It never keeps a page whose address holds an affiliate’s code, so neither the cache nor that database ever holds one.
On our public pages
- How you arrived (constants_acq_source_v1 and constants_acq_entry_v1). The open tab keeps a note of the kind of link that brought you, for example “affiliate”, a tag such as “reddit”, or the website that linked to us, and of the first of our pages you opened, for example the home page or a shared record. Session storage: it goes when you close the tab. It never holds an affiliate’s code or anything about you. It is for our own statistics, so we can tell which places bring people who stay, and the site would work without it. You can turn it off at the end of this notice.
- When you sign up (constants_acq_signup_v1 and constants_acq_signup_entry_v1). If you sign up in that tab, the note is copied under these two names, so your new board can count the sign-up once, and they are removed as soon as it has. The note is also saved with your account so we can count where sign-ups come from. Session storage. Nothing is kept or saved if you turned the note off.
- Your choice about that note (constants_acq_objection_v1). If you turn the note off, this browser remembers your choice, so it keeps no note on any later visit. Local storage, until you turn the note back on or clear this site’s data. It is kept only if you turn the note off.
- Your place on the home page (demo-return-scroll). When you open the demo from the home page and come back, the tab keeps your place for that moment, so you return where you were. Session storage, removed as soon as it is used.
4. AFFILIATE LINKS USE NO COOKIES
If you arrive through an affiliate’s link, for example useconstants.com/?ref=CODE, the affiliate’s code stays in the address of each page as you move through the site. No cookie and nothing in your browser’s storage holds it, the offline app never keeps a page whose address holds it, and no affiliate platform’s script runs on our pages. If you sign up, the code goes with you to your new board, and our server saves it with your account on our own systems, never in your browser or in your sign-in cookie. If you then subscribe, our server tells GoAffPro, the platform that runs our affiliate program, the order number, the amount you paid and which affiliate to credit. An affiliate’s link credits them if you subscribe within seven days of signing up, or while the address still holds their code. An affiliate may also give you a discount code to type at checkout, which credits them the same way and comes before any link.
5. ANALYTICS
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel, the company that hosts this website. It sets no cookies, and it counts page views from what your browser sends with each request.
6. YOUR CHOICES
You can turn off the note of how you arrived at the end of this notice. It costs nothing and changes nothing else about the site. Your browser’s settings also let you block or delete cookies and site data. If you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to sign in. Deleting this site’s data signs you out and resets your board’s settings on that device; your account and your record stay on our servers. Closing a tab clears what it kept in session storage.
7. CHANGES AND QUESTIONS
If we add a cookie or anything else to this list, we will update this notice and its date first. If you have questions about it, you may contact us through Support on useconstants.com (on the home page in the Iron Guarantee, or under Account on your dashboard).
The note of how you arrived
On. While a tab is open, this browser keeps a note of the kind of link that brought you, for our own statistics.
